Six Things you could do for homelessness
Every time you walk across a street, would it bother you to really think about how to help out those guys sleeping in the corner of the street? It’s really easy for us to show sympathy, but what really matters is the way we convey our passion to those in need. Here are six things you could do for homeless people.
1. Spare some of your clothing
Maybe you are still struggling about how to get rid of the clothes you no longer wear, try giving them to the homeless people if they are still in good condition.
2.Spare some money
Money could buy everything. It’s kind of a cliché, but you could really help them by just sparing them some changes. They could use it to buy some food and drinks. And they could also save them for emergency use.
3.Give out your recyclables
A plastic bottle might be of no use to you after finishing the drinks, but this recyclable stuff are of really good help for homeless people. They could collect them in exchange for some money after returning them to a recycling center.
4.Employ the homeless
During the interviews conducted by OneforHope project, we found that most homeless people have their own dreams. Some of them love music and hope to be a musician. Some are strong enough to cover heavy labors. Consider employing them and give them a chance to prove themselves that they could also make a huge contribution to the community and society.
5.Buy some sheet and blanket
It’s tough to spend every night outside on the street, right? Try to use some of your resources to get a sheet or blanket for the homeless people.
6. Treat them with respect and respond with kindness
Last but not least, please let yourself be aware that Homeless people are just like us ordinary people. Give them the same courtesy and respect them. Treat them as if you are someone actually in need for assistance. They also have their own dreams that are temporarily unable to be achieved due to their status quo. But they have hope just like everyone else do, and they deserve respect from others. Please make sure to educate your child about how to treat the homeless person, and make this world a better place in the future.
